Sahasrara- Crown Chakra Introduction

 

What & Where

The crown chakra is associated with the pineal gland, which is in the mid-brain below the cerebral hemisphere.  It produces melatonin and regulates our body clock.  The qualities of this chakra are bliss, beauty and spirituality.  This is the chakra that allows us to feel good and loved.  This is where we know that we are extensions of God's, and that all living things are connected in this love.

Main Function

I am one with God. "I will pause for a moment and go home". These words activate my connection to the Father, and a wave of pleasure and recognition courses through my body and I know the pleasure of being loved by the Father, and the feeling of home and completeness.  It is a brief example of what eternity is like at home with the source of my creation. It is time to get to know who and what you are.  We are all extensions of God our Father's love.   This Chakra is about contact with the love in all of us that returns us to our natural home where we have never really left except by the crazy thought of separation from our source.  

Happiness and abundance can be ours and balancing the seventh chakra will help.  It matters little what form your spirituality takes; what matters is that you establish the connection to that within you which is the communication link to our source.  By knowing and accepting that our lives are in the hands of  the source energy, we surrender our fears and burdens. We learn through this to deal with pain, loss, and separation by forgiving our brothers in Christ for our imagined hurts.  We know that we are eternal, and that the body is just a temporary vehicle for our spirit which we created with a thought of separation from God.  To paraphrase Wayne Dyer, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”  This chakra is where that realization becomes most real to us.  By accepting that we are divinely guided by the Holy Spirit we lighten up.  We become healthier and are able to live in this illusion like we should.  Honoring the divine within allows us to know we are never alone and that we are guided, loved and that we have never left the protection of our Father.

This Chakra is about connectedness with the source energy of the universe and the attainment of true happiness that is from within oneself, and not from outside material sources. 

People that have opened their crown chakra describe it as bliss, rapture, and ecstasy.  Meditation is the key to your bliss.  It doesn’t matter what type of meditation you choose as long as you spend some time with a quiet mind in connection with the Holy Spirit our guide to letting go of this world and going home. It is then that we will recognize that what we truly are never left home to begin with, and have rested comfortably in love and peace with the Father.

Over Active

Psychotic or manic depressive (Bi-Polar), confused sexual expression, frustrated, sense of unrealized power.  The perfect analogy for this over active chakra is The Brain from the Cartoon Pinkie and The Brain.

Under Active

Constantly exhausted, can’t make decisions, no sense of “belonging”

Balanced

Magnetic personality, forgives his/her brothers and sisters easily as he know this world is an illusion, achieves “miracles” in life, transcendent, at peace with self.

Some Things to Consider

Answers these questions for yourself.

• Can you open yourself to the love, guidance, and protection of a force greater than yourself?
• What are your highest spiritual truths about yourself, life, death, forgiveness, and change?
• Can you recognize all humans as you brothers as they are also extensions of God's love, and are perfect in his eyes?
• Do you need anything to happen to feel your bliss?
• Do you need others to change to feel your bliss?
• Can you let go of external conditions being right to feel your bliss?
• Are you willing to let go of your attachment to the negative things in your life to be in bliss?
• Are you willing to forgive your brothers and yourself for they are struggling with this life in the same way you are.

 

Symbol

The symbol for the Crown Chakra is the light violet lotus of 1000 petals.  The petals are arranged in twenty rows of fifty which contain the fifty letters of the Sanskrit alphabet.  Inside the lotus are the mandalas for the full moon and sun.  The mandalas are the symbol of the integration of the female and male energy.
